I’m going to start these 22 traits with what I perceive to be the most powerful and overlooked quality we possess.
Being grateful!
I want you to take a step back from the daily noise in your head, the daily activities, anything that takes you out of the moment you are currently in.
I want you to look around, take a deep breath, and look at where you are.
You’re alive!
Right now at this opportunity you have the choice to do whatever you want with your life!
Right now at this very moment, you’re alive, you have people in your life who think about you coworkers, friends, family, or even the barista at Starbucks, you have your health, and most importantly you have yourself.
The concept of being grateful truly hit me back in 2017, I was sitting outside of Sprouts and I realized that I always was focusing on what I don’t have opposed to what I DO have.
You’ve probably heard in your life by now that everyday you wake up is a gift, but have you truly thought about it? You never know when your last moments on this earth are, your last days could be at any moment.
There’s no point wasting the precious time we have on this earth complaining, whining, or wasting our natural energy on the things we don’t have when there is a countless amount that you do have or could obtain just by being grateful.
Ask yourself:
Do you really want to be stressing and feeling sad over the things you wish you have or didn’t get, when you could be fruitful in relationships/friendships, your health, opportunities, that you DO have.
I’ve always been asked “Zion how do you have so much energy all the time?” Truth is I’m just grateful to be alive!
I don’t want to waste a single second on this earth drowning, when in reality it’s all a matter of perspective to see the wealth you are swimming in that is around you.
Be grateful for what you have! You never know when it’s the last time you have it!
If you wish to take this further, tonight take out a piece of paper and write:
1. What are you grateful for?
2. How can you improve and show gratitude more often?
3. How do you already show gratitude?
Thank you for reading 😊
